Republican Unity now more than ever.

A Guest Post by Tom Seeman, Precinct Operations Chair, LCRC.

We achieved a tremendous victory in 2009. Bob McDonnell was elected governor with over 61% of the vote in Loudoun County, with his running mates Bill Bolling and Ken Cuccinelli receiving similar margins. Every Republican delegate whose district is completely or partially in Loudoun won by a commanding margin as well. As our Chairman Glen Caroline said, we won because we had better candidates, a better message, and a better ground game.

Of those three, the only one we can really control is the ground game. This involves a massive effort by large numbers of people to carry out activities such as phone banking, door to door canvassing, participation in special events such as festivals and parades, and distributing candidate signs.

We were successful in these activities because we were united in purpose. All Republicans worked to achieve the victory of all candidates. We knew that the stakes were high, and everyone worked together.

Certainly there will be times when we disagree over who will be the best candidate. The primary process is the forum by which we discuss and debate this matter. However, once the candidate is chosen, it is important that we unite to achieve our common goal. When we do this, we win.

Candace will do a great job in representing ALL of the LCRC, just as Glen did.
