INFORMATION ON PARTY CANVASS FOR REPUBLICAN PARTY OF LOUDOUN COUNTY

At its Jan. 26, 2010  meeting, the Loudoun County Republican Committee adopted a Call to hold a party canvass on March 6, 2010.  Below are some additional details on the process.  For more information, please contact loudoungopchair@gmail.com.

What is a Party Canvass?

A party canvass, also known as a firehouse primary, is an election held by the Republican Party of Loudoun County.


What Business Will Be Conducted at the Canvass?

Elect the next Chair of the Loudoun County Republican Committee.
Elect members of the Loudoun County Republican Committee.
Elect delegates to the 10th Congressional District Republican District Convention


Do I have to file or pay a fee to participate?

No fee or form is required to vote.  Any registered voter in Loudoun County who is willing to sign a pledge stating he will support our Republican candidates is eligible to vote in the party canvass.  The canvass will be held on March 6, at Belmont Ridge Middle School, from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.  One simply needs to come by during those hours, show ID, sign the pledge saying you will support our Republican candidates, and cast his ballot, and can then be on his way.  There is no fee to do so.

If one wishes to run for Chair of the Loudoun County Republican Committee, apply as a member of the Loudoun County Republican Committee, or file as a delegate to the 10th Congressional district Republican Convention, a properly executed form must be filed and corresponding fees must be paid.
