I see an awful lot of factual misinformation about how Sarah Palin was actually vetted, by people who are speculating, and seem to live on another planet than Politicus. Some people accel at politics because they can wrap their brain around every issue, and some should just step back into their lives and get a real job, because...well...they suck at this one.
Such is the case with SEVERAL commentators who put it in their own heads that Palin wasn't vetted properly.
I saw one of the liberal press floating her as a last minute selection because we'd never seen her before he announced. McCain's team has looked at her long and hard, and the discussion was occurring at LEAST four months ago. She has been on the short list for at LEAST three months. What McCain INSISTED on was that her name not be revealed or leaked because it would destroy the effect of announcing her immediately after Obama addressed the DNC. THAT, and that alone was the reason her name was never revealed prior to that day. McCain's strategists were brilliant in the release....making many people not involved in politics respond "He did?" when they were informed that Obama had offered a speech the night before. In truth, she did tell McCain a number of things, and he did not find it to be a big deal.....like MOST Americans. The Dems had better start acting like "everyman" if they really want to appeal to him.

Thing is, the Dems don't much care for "everyman."
(Yay! I'm the first to comment!)
Doh! Forgot the whole "blog owner approval" option. So I'm probably not the first, huh? But I'm surely the most brilliant.
Welcome to the blog. I concur. For all their crowing about how they want what's best for "everyman"...they tend to treat them like mushrooms. If they can purposely keep them in the dark and feed them horse shite, they will readily keep doing so, in so long as that mushroom keeps sending in more money without complaining too loud..
You are officially...the first. Contributor, I mean. :)
