Sept. Calender

September takes off with a bang. On September the 3rd, there will be a special 3rd annual remembrance of my dear nephew's service and ultimate sacrifice. A lone buglar will sound Taps at the gravesite before our guests.
I leave for San Diego on a conference on the 6th, and won't arrive back until September 11th.
This continues with a remembrance of September 11th in several County locations. This will be the 8th year, folks.

The following day, September the 12th, the Tea Party Express rolls into town.
Follow them into DC... and join them...

On Wednesday, the 16th, there is a NRA-ILA free volunteer kick-off meeting This meeting is absolutely free and beverages and light snacks will be provided. It will run only about 60-90 minutes. It will insure that we are prepared to meet the challenges and opportunities regarding the Second Amendment we will face this election season. It's being held at the Holiday Inn Leesburg at Carradoc Hall
1500 East Market Street, Leesburg, VA. at 1900 Hrs.


On Friday, Sept. 25th, there will be a GoldStar Family Dinner at the Hilton Hotel in DC.Slated to appear are --

•Former President George W. Bush & Mrs. Laura Bush
•Former President William J. Clinton & Secretary of State Hilary Clinton
•Former President George H.W. Bush & Mrs. Barbara Bush

•Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger & First Lady Maria Shriver

And on Saturday, Sept. 26, the Fourth Annual Time Of Remembrance will remember those who were KIA in Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Iraqi Freedom, and includes those that returned home, but died later of their wounds.
The program will be held at the US Capitol at 12:00 and will last until 13:30.

Dan,
I appreciate the thoughts and the prayers. As I've told others, EJ followed in the steps of his grandfather and great-grandfathers before him.
In five generations of fighting men, we've suffered our share of bulletholes, bayonets and shrapnel...but all of us came home.

EJ was the first to give the "ultimate sacrifice" and he did so knowing that his death was
possible when he volunteered to stop the incoming mortar fire.

I miss him terribly. He was a blast to be around, and was the "life of the party" wherever he went.
